2015 Delta Mu Delta Biennial Conference

November 6-8, Kansas City, Missouri

Delta Mu Delta will be holding both team and individual, juried competitions for students at our 2015 Biennial Conference in Kansas City, Missouri.   Individuals from a team are welcome to participate in both events. Presentations will be held on Saturday, November 8th. Both undergraduate and graduate students are invited to present. Note: Competitors are responsible for costs to register and attend the conference.

Team Pitch Competition: Develop and present a marketing plan for the 2017 biennial conference including theme, logo, breakout sessions, speakers, etc. We are looking for a “package” that will be both informative and engaging, but does not include details regarding location, space, etc.

Format: Students may use printed posters and/or computers in the session. Internet access will be available. Videos could also by created and shown. A tri-fold poster board measuring 48” x 36” will be provided at the conference upon request. Keep in mind that poster templates and design help are available on the Internet.

Individual Competition: Elevator Speech.
Format: Students will have “one” minute to engage and persuade a student who has qualified for DMD membership (but knows nothing about the organization) to join.

Winner Selection: A panel of judges will evaluate the content, creativity, design and delivery of submissions. If your work is used, it will be credited to you.

First and second place for the Team Competition will be awarded cash prizes of $500 and $250 respectively.

First and second place for the Individual Competition will be awarded cash prizes of $200 and $100 respectively.

How to submit: In an email, attach the following: A 200–word (maximum) abstract including title and summary of presentation (PDF or Word file). Use the subject line “DMD student competition (team or individual)” in your email and send to: Dr. Charles Finn, cfinn688@gmail.com.
