Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society in Business Installs Chapter at South University, Tampa

Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society in Business installed the Nu Theta chapter at South University, Tampa during a ceremony held on December 13, 2014 at the campus.

Chapters can be installed and members can be initiated only in programs that are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP.) South University earned its ACBSP initial accreditation in 2014.

Delta Mu Delta Southeast Regional Representative Sara Adams, Ph.D., was in attendance. Four students and four 2014 graduates were inducted as South University, Tampa Delta Mu Delta members: Barbara Sweat Master of Business Administration, 2014 graduate (Chapter President) Mikhtar Tadili Master of Business Administration, 2014 graduate (Chapter Vice President) Nicole Zanon Master of Business Administration student (Chapter Secretary) Paula Moore Bachelor of Business Administration student (Chapter Treasurer) Safal Desai Master of Business Administration, 2014 graduate Chantel Isner Master of Business Administration, 2014 graduate Bernard Lilavois Healthcare Administration Master of Business Administration student Diana Viteri Healthcare Administration Master of Business Administration student

South University College of Business Dean Cheryl Noll addressed the inductees and spoke about the Delta Mu Delta motto which is “Through knowledge, power.”

“Acquiring knowledge requires paying attention, listening, and working hard,” Noll told the audience. “And, by advancing your level of education you gain knowledge and increase your potential….by sharing that knowledge, you contribute to the well-being of the business community.”

South University, Tampa is the third of the institution’s campuses to be granted a Delta Mu Delta chapter, in addition to the Savannah and High Point campuses. The university plans to add co-chapters for its other campuses and online students.

Other programs in the College of Business are excluded from ACBSP’s scope of accreditation. These programs include: Associate of Science in Accounting, Associate of Science in Business Administration, Association of Science in Information Technology, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Master of Public Administration, Master of Science in Accounting, Master of Science in Information Systems and Technology, Master of Science in Leadership and Doctor of Business Administration.
