New! Choices in selected criteria and a financial incentive to the chapters!
The Star Chapter Awards provide recognition to all chapters that meet or exceed Society standards for chapter operation and administration. Eligibility will be decided by data from annual reports and Central Office records.
All of the following are required to earn a Star Chapter Award:
- Complete at least one induction ceremony during the fiscal year ending June 30.
- Elect a full slate of officers for the past fiscal year (one person may serve more than one office; e.g., one person could hold the offices of both secretary and treasurer).
- Hold a minimum of two business meetings during the fiscal year.
- Submit both annual and financial reports postmarked on or before July 15.
- Have no bills outstanding for more than 90 days during the fiscal year.
In addition, a chapter must complete two of the three following items:
- Increase the number of students inducted over the preceding year or induct 80 percent or more of the eligible candidates for the fiscal year.
- Participate in the Delta Mu Delta scholarship program during the fiscal year with a complete application submitted from a chapter member.
- Complete a community service or business-related activity on local campus or in local community and submit information about the activity to Central Office for inclusion on our website.
Chapters earning STAR award status will receive a $50 gift card.
Star Chapters will be presented an appropriate certificate of achievement and be recognized with letters to: Dean of the Business School/College or Dean of Students; Provost or Academic Officer; and the President of the University. In addition, a post will be published on our website.
