Dr. Bernice Purcell

President

Bernice M. Purcell is Associate Dean of Business Administration at Holy Family University in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Purcell teaches undergraduate courses in MIS, management, and business strategy. She has a BA degree from Holy Family University in MIS, an MBA with a concentration in Management from LaSalle University, and a DBA from Northcentral University. Dr. Purcell does research on topics in the fields of business, computing, and business education. She has served as Delta Mu Delta Region 2 Representative since July 2017, and is on the Board of the Pennsylvania ACE Women’s Network.

Dr. LaMontagne has extensive leadership and management experience in manufacturing and operations management having spent 38 years with a Fortune 500 company in the business services industry. Additionally, he has over 22 years in higher education as faculty member and administrator. Content areas include organizational behavior, ethics, leadership, communication, critical thinking and applied research project. Dr. LaMontagne has advised students on their master’s thesis and in addition to teaching the MBA capstone course. Dr. LaMontagne is currently Department Chair for Business Administration for University of the People in addition to his role as DMD VP Extension and Development. Dr. LaMontagne is a former Faculty Advisor at the University of Phoenix and Region 3 Representative. Dr. LaMontagne advocates for students and faculty, seeking to create an engaging environment to promote and support student learning and success in completing their academic pursuits.

Dr. Armando Salas-Amaro

Dr. Armando Salas-Amaro is a Professor at Keiser University’s Graduate School since 2010. Dr. Salas-Amaro teaches courses in the areas of management, leadership development, organizational behavior, and operations management.

He served as the MBA Program Chair (2013-2016). The State of Florida governor at the time recognized Dr. Salas-Amaro for building a recognizable MBA program at Keiser University. The MBA Program was included in the South Florida Business Journal’s list of top MBA programs.

Dr. Salas-Amaro is the Nu-Phi Co Chapter Advisor and founding president at Keiser University’s Ft. Lauderdale Campus/Graduate School/Ecampus/Latin Division.

Dr. Salas-Amaro has also published and presented for the International Academy of Business and Economics (IABE), The Lentz Leadership Institute (The Refractive Thinker), and the Academic Organization for Advancement of Strategic and International Studies (Academic Oasis).

As an accounting executive, accomplished higher education administrator, business faculty, and entrepreneur, his extensive professional experience in business leadership, accounting, taxation, and financial services provides a unique insight into managing organizations.

Dr. Moronke Oke

Dr. Moronke Oke, Chair or Management and an Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior and Management

Her professional experience includes working in various banking positions in Africa, and as an associate HR consultant in the UK. Her areas of research are inter-organizational dynamics and inter-firm networking. She has presented at various management conferences in both the U.S. and across Europe, and she has published articles in several peer-reviewed academic journals including the Journal of Change Management and Journal of Operations Management. In addition, Dr. Oke has authored a practitioner paper for the Intelligent Transport Systems in the UK and presented to government agencies in both the UK and USA. With over 20 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate level, Dr. Oke taught Organizational Behavior, Management, and Human Resource Management in the UK, and she has continued to teach those courses at Grand Canyon University (GCU) in the traditional ground modality as well as online. Dr. Oke has taught in the Master of Science in Leadership Program, the Doctorate program at GCU as well as in the Executive MBA Program. As the Chair of the Management department at GCU, Dr. Oke has oversight of the Management and Leadership programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels at GCU. She sits on the Faculty Research Council and served as an associate editor of the Canyon Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies. She has also sat on several university committees including the Institutional Review Board, One Foundation, and the Graduate Council.

Dr. Oke earned her MBA (with Distinction), Post-graduate Diploma in Research Methods, and Ph.D. from Cardiff Business School in the UK, a top research school belonging to the Ivy League of the UK and an AACSB accredited institution. Dr Oke was inducted into the Eta Chi Chapter of Delta Mu Delta Honors society DMD in 2010. She served as the chapter’s Co-adviser and became the Adviser of the Eta Chi chapter since 2016. The Eta Chi Chapter has been awarded the Star Chapter in 2018 and 2019 and was named the A.J. Jablonksy Chapter of the Year in 2020.

She is on the Nature Conservancy and is the Director of Communications and Marketing for the Marketing Management Association. Prior to her time at SNHU, she has taught at SNHU (adjunct), Harvard Extension School (adjunct instructor), Harvard Summer School (adjunct instructor), and Aurora University (Assistant Professor). Dr. Samii does research in the space of social media and pedagogy. She also has a passion for mindfulness which she has developed a community around at SNHU.

Dr. Towne is currently an Online Chair and Associate Professor of Business at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. Dr. Towne teaches graduate courses in management and organizational behavior. She has a B.S. in Accounting degree, an MBA degree, and a DBA in Strategic Management degree from Liberty University. Dr. Towne has worked in higher education for over ten years, in addition to over ten years’ experience in retail management. Dr. Cynthia Solari

D.B.A., in Business Administration and Leadership from the University of Phoenix. Dr. Solari is currently an Executive Program Director at the College of Business and Management with Colorado Technical University, and is also an Associate Professor with the College of Business and Management. She is an active Team Chair Evaluator with the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and has performed many site visits over the past several years. She is currently mentoring the University of Doha for Science and Technology in Doha, Qatar through the ACBSP accreditation process. Dr. Solari is an active member in the Academic Association for Adult and Continuing Education (AAACE) organization and has presented at both the AAACE conference and Online Learning Consortium (OLC) conference. Dr. Solari will be presenting once again at the AAACE conference in October 2023. Dr. Solari was the prior DMD Chapter advisor for several years while at American Intercontinental University and was instrumental in launching the current DMD chapter with Colorado Technical University. She is currently serving as a DMD committee member on both the Scholarship and Membership Services Committees.

Dr. Salvador “Sal” Villegas

BA in Philosophy & Political Science College of Idaho; MBA in Management and Strategy Western Governors University, he earned a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in Management degree from George Fox University. Prior to entering into higher education, Dr Villegas enjoyed nearly two decades of successful industry experience in the finance and banking sectors, being responsible for tens of thousands of clients and hundreds of employees during his career. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Management at Northern State University (NSU) in Aberdeen, SD where his areas of instruction include business ethics, international management, strategy, and entrepreneurship. He has served as the DMD faculty adviser for the NSU chapter since 2020, and been part of the DMD FiComm since 2021. Dr. Villegas is active in his local community and has volunteered for many leadership positions within several non-profit organizations.

B.B.A, Harding University, M.S., Texas A&M University, Ph.D., Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Dr. Brown has been on the faculty of the Paul R. Carter College of Business at Harding University since 2008. He is the Chairman of the Department of Marketing. Before coming back to his alma mater he spent 12 years on the Faculty of Freed-Hardeman University. His teaching interests are wide but he particularly enjoys teaching Principles of Marketing and Services Marketing. He is a recipient of Harding’s Teacher Achievement Award. Dr. Brown has served as the faculty adviser for the Alpha Upsilon Chapter of Delta Mu Delta at Harding University since 2014. He has also served as sponsor for chapters of the American Marketing Association and as a Walton Fellow of Students in Free Enterprise. His non-academic work was in a variety of sales and sales management positions in health club industry, with Dillard’s Department Stores, and as a Special Agent with Northwestern Mutual Life.

Dr. Hess is the Dean in the Fermanian School of Business at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, CA. She initiated the Delta Mu Delta Chapters at Point Loma Nazarene University as well as at her previous academic appointment as a professor of marketing at Anderson University in South Carolina. Dr. Hess began her academic career as a marketing professor and Undergraduate Program Chair at Palm Beach Atlantic University in Florida. Her industry experience includes serving in corporate and nonprofit organizations in marketing, public relations and fundraising. Dr. Hess’ strengths are in evaluating stakeholder needs and developing and delivering high quality educational experiences.

Dr. Joni Adkins - Chair

Dr. Adkins is a professor and the Director of the School of Computer Science and Information Systems at Northwest Missouri State University where she has worked since 1998. Her previous work experience was with ExecuTrain, Liberty Public Schools, Upward Bound, and Student Support Services. Dr. Adkins currently teaches information systems courses. She has been actively involved with Delta Mu Delta since 2001, serving as faculty adviser of the Eta Gamma chapter for many years. Dr. Adkins served as the Region 5 Regional Representative from 2009-2013, Secretary 2013-2014 and 2021-2023, Vice President 2014-2017, President 2017-2019, Past President 2019-2021, and is now on the Advisory Board.

Dr. Charles Finn

Dr. Charles Finn

Dual undergraduate degree in Economics and Political Science, University of Minnesota, Duluth; MA in Management and Economic Development, Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs, University of Minnesota; Ph.D. in Management Science, University of Strathclyde, Scotland. He taught strategic planning, organizational behavior, and technology at the Humphrey Institute (1986-99). He served as Chair of Graduate Programs at Empire State College, SUNY (1999-2002). Charles recently retired as a Management Professor at the College of Saint Rose, Albany, NY (2002 – 2014). He has conducted research nationwide on banking and community economic development, and has been called to testify by Congress and the Federal Reserve Bank. He has consulted with federal, state, local governments, and non-profits, developing strategic plans in the areas of education, health care and community economic development. He has as also taught and consulted with foreign governments as a visiting professor in Poland, Ireland and Scotland. Dr. Finn served DMD for two terms as Regional Representative and was the Faculty Adviser of the Iota Gamma Chapter of The College of Saint Rose 2004-2014. Dr. Finn has been the DMD Vice President of Extension and Development the past two years.

Dr. Betty Jean Hebel

BS, Eastern Michigan University, M Ed, Ph.D., Wayne State University, Professor of Marketing and Management and Chair of the Marketing and Management Department in the School of Business, Madonna University, Livonia, Michigan. Dr. Hebel has over 25 years business marketing experience and 15 years teaching experience in higher education in the USA, Taiwan, and China. Betty Jean has served as faculty adviser for Delta Mu Delta and for the campus Marketing club. Her marketing classes have provided comprehensive marketing research and plans based on the outcomes for many organizations in the Detroit, Michigan area including Haiti Outreach Mission, Contemporary Art Institute of Detroit, Michigan Festivals and Events, Michigan Colleges Foundations, Knights of Columbus (Local Council) and several local Autism organizations. The Michigan Campus Compact Pay It Forward Philanthropy Grant program has been awarded to two of her current marketing course offerings. Dr. Hebel has served as a DMD Regional Representative and as secretary since November 2015.

Dr. Bambi Hora

B.S.B.A. Oklahoma State, MAS Northern Illinois, J.D. Oklahoma City University. Dr. Hora joined Univ. of Central Oklahoma faculty in Fall 1990, where she is currently Department Chairperson and Professor of Accounting. Her primary teaching area is taxation. She serves on various committees in the college and university and is faculty adviser for DMD, Accounting Club and Ethics Club. Dr. Hora is also actively involved with numerous professional organizations, including serving as AAA Council Representative for the TLC section, and Treasurer for NAAS. In addition she is active with Girl Scouts and serves in both local and national positions. Dr. Hora has been involved with the UCO DMD chapter since 2007, served as a DMD Regional Representative 2011-2014, Secretary 2014-2015, and Treasurer since November 2014.

Professor Sara J Leone, CPA

Professor Sara J Leone, CPA

Sara Leone has served Delta Mu Delta since 1992 in various roles: Faculty Advisor, Regional Representative, Treasurer and member of the Advisory Board. Now retired from full-time faculty at the University of St. Francis, , Sara continues to teach in the on-line program. During her academic tenure, Sara was awarded the university-wide Achievement in Service Award and was awarded the Outstanding Accounting Educator Award by the Illinois CPA Society presented to educators making significant contributions to accounting education.

Passionate about teaching and learning, Sara has redirected her target audience from university students to tax professionals. Sara teaches various tax topics at both the national and state chapter level for the National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP).

Sara is the owner of a tax practice in a Chicago suburb since 1984 which specializes in individual, small business and Subchapter S corporations. This practice distinguishes itself by providing the highest quality professional service with a personal touch. In addition to tax preparation and planning, Sara has also been recognized as an expert witness in the development of financial models.

In addition to Delta Mu Delta, Sara serves on the Education Committee of the Arizona Chapter of NATP and was elected to the board for a term beginning in January 2020.

Sara’s educational background includes an undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Arizona, a Master of Science in Accounting with an emphasis in taxation from Northern Illinois University and doctoral coursework at Nova Southeastern University. While at Northern Illinois University, Sara earned the Federation Schools of Accountancy Award, based upon academics, leadership, extracurricular activities and character.

John Lewington

John Lewington BSc and MSc, The City University (London); Ph.D., The Open University (U.K.). Dr. Lewington is Associate Dean and Professor of Marketing and Management at the John E. Simon School of Business, Maryville University. He has over 30 years teaching experience in the U.S., and his United Kingdom teaching includes University of Westminster, Middlesex University, and the Open University. Dr. Lewington’s doctorate was one of the first to conduct empirical research into database marketing – now the foundation of relationship marketing and social media. He worked for General Motors, and founded Datafax of St. Louis. He is a past-president of the St. Louis Chapter of the American Marketing Association, and the only academic recipient of the chapter’s Lifetime Achievement Award. He is also a past-president of Marketing Research Institute International, and member of the board the World Affairs Council (Saint Louis). He has traveled extensively, and provided cross-cultural consulting for managers at companies such as Boeing, General Electric, Monsanto, Reuters, and Emerson Electric. He is the Faculty Adviser for the Delta Mu Delta Chapter at Maryville University.

Dr. Kevin McCarthy

Dr. Kevin McCarthy

B.A., M.B.A., Ph.D. St. Louis University. Baker University – Professor of Business & Economics, Collins-Dietrich Chair. Dr. McCarthy has been a professor in Baker University’s Department of Business and Economics since 1993. His undergraduate studies included majors in mathematics and Spanish, his MBA focused on international business, and he was awarded a doctorate in business administration – all from Saint Louis University. In addition to Baker and SLU, he has taught at Creighton University and Shippensburg University. Also, he taught in Britain in 2003 and 2008 at Harlaxton College. Professional activities have included articles, conference presentations, and reviews. In addition, he has served as a faculty “intern” at Foote Cone and Belding, Sprint, Archer Engineering, and Bioscience and Technology Business Center. He enjoys the challenges of coaching students in off-campus projects and competitions and has served as Faculty Fellow for Sigma Phi Epsilon. McCarthy was the founding faculty adviser for Eta Phi Chapter of Delta Mu Delta at Baker University in 1996. He has served in multiple roles with the DMD Board, including a term as Society President 2019-21. Additionally, he has attended every national meeting of DMD since 1995!

Randall McLeod

Randy McLeod serves as a Professor of Business in the Paul R. Carter College of Business Administration at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. He served as Dean of the College of Business from 1995 to 2002 and is currently the Director of the Professional Sales Program. He has been heavily involved with DMD where he has served as national President, Vice-President, and regional representative. He also served on several committees with DMD including triennial meeting committee chair. His involvement with ACBSP has also been extensive as a site evaluator and a university mentor. At the national level, he has served as an Interim Executive Director (2002), Vice President, Treasurer, as well as on the Board of Directors. Other organizations in which he has served includes the Federation of Honor Societies, the Searcy Airport Commission, the Tri-County Drug Task Force, and the White County Tax Advisory Committee. Randy McLeod obtained his J.D. degree from Memphis State University. He teaches at the undergraduate and graduate level in the areas of professional sales, ethics, business communications, and corporate strategy.

Dr. Perry Moore

Dr. Perry Moore

Dr. Perry Moore is the Charles E. Frasier Professor of Accountancy and Director of Accreditation at Lipscomb University’s Pfeffer Graduate School of Business. He is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Internal Auditor, and is Certified in Risk Management Assurance. A Nashville native, Perry graduated from Lipscomb with a degree in accounting and then completed his graduate studies at the University of Alabama and the University of Georgia.

For the Tennessee Society of CPA’s, Perry is a member of their Professional Ethics Committee. Perry has also directed their “Accounting Academy”, a program designed to attract high school students to accounting careers.

Perry is active in the Institute of Internal Auditors. He has served as a Past-President of their Nashville Chapter. Perry is also a Past-President of Delta Mu Delta, an international honor society for business majors, where he currently serves as Treasurer.

Perry provides training for CPAs across the state of Tennessee on Professional Ethics. He serves as a member of the CPE Standards Working Group for the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA). In 2015, the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs honored Perry with their International Teaching Excellence Award. He has also received teaching awards from the Tennessee Society of CPAs, Lipscomb University, and the University of Georgia.

Janis Petronis BBA, University of Arkansas; MEd, Tarleton State University, TX; EdD, Texas A&M University-Commerce; Associate Professor of International Business and Marketing, Tarleton State University, voted the 2001 College of Business Teacher of the Year. Previous positions include public school and community college business teacher, president of the Texas Association of School Boards, Executive Director of the Tarleton Alumni Association, and Assistant Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Tarleton. Current chair of the ACBSP Global Business Education Committee and responsible for ACBSP research on the internationalization of business curriculum. DMD service has included serving as faculty adviser for Zeta Lambda Chapter (2000 Jablonsky Award winner), Regional Representative for Regions 6 & 8, Vice President and President of DMD Society.
