I have been a full-time professor at DBU since 1991. For seven years, I taught Computer Science courses. In 1994, I was asked to help create the undergraduate Management Information Systems (MIS) program in the College of Business (COB). After finishing that task, I went back to teaching Computer Science. In 1998, the University requested that I transfer my time and knowledge over to the MIS program. I served as Associate Dean for the COB from December 2011 to June 2013. In January of 2014, I was named Dean of the COB.

Previous to coming to DBU, I worked in a number of different technical positions in several industries. I worked in research and development for a major petroleum company. I was a network and system manager in Houston. I served as a systems analyst/application programmer for the third largest insurance company in the U.S. I designed and supervised the building of computer facilities. I created new types of computing devices and other types of equipment for geologists and geophysicists. I created an online, real-time stock and bond analysis program. I was a knowledge engineer working with AI, specifically expert systems and neural nets. I occasionally do consulting.

My formal education gives me a wide range of interests. I have a Bachelor’s degree from a small college in Kansas. I majored in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. I have a Master’s degree from Houston Baptist University in Human Resource Management. I completed my Ph.D. at the University of North Texas in Information Science. I represented the United States as a Fulbright scholar, teaching in Latvia during 2006. I was named a Piper Scholar in 2011. In 2012 I was named the Outstanding Professor of the Year for the COB. I am listed in Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers, Who’s Who International of Science and Technology, and in Who’s Who in Science and Engineering. In 2007 I was a Visiting Scholar at LCC International University in Klaipeda, Lithuania. I am a member of the IEEE, ACM, and Phi Beta Delta and Delta Mu Delta Honor Societies.
