DMD Mourns the Loss of Michael V LaRocco

Delta Mu Delta lost a valuable member of the DMD community on October 4th, 2022. Mike LaRocco touched so many lives and he will be greatly missed.

His Wake will be Thursday, October 13 from 3-9 at the Hann Funeral Home (8230 S. Harlem Ave. Bridgeview, IL 60455), and A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, October 14, at 10 am at Our Lady of Pompeii, (1224 W Lexington St., Chicago, IL).

Mike and Kathy will be eternally joined and laid to rest together on Monday, October 17, 2022, at 10:30 am at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL

OBITUARY

Michael V LaRocco. Beloved husband of 54 years to Kathleen J (nee Piwowar). Loving father of Michael (Lindsey Brashler) LaRocco. Dearest Papa of Oscar, Domenic, and Sidney. Dear brother of Peter (Cheryl) LaRocco, Philip (Debbie) LaRocco, the late Donald (Rosalie) LaRocco, and brother-in-law of James Piwowar. Cherished uncle of Mitchell, Gabrielle, Jean, Nicole, Ann, Anthony, and Matthew. Most amazing uncle, cousin, friend and Coach to many and dearly held in the Brashler family’s hearts. Mike was the Past Commander of the 3rd District VFW, Member and Past Commander of the Ted Stempien VFW Post 8821, Member of American Legion Post 698, Co-Founder of the Vietnam Veterans Welcome Home Parade, Dean and Professor at University of St Francis, Cornerstone Board Member for the Caritas Scholarship Celebration at University of St Francis, leader of the Delta Mu Delta Academic Honor Society in Business, longtime Sports Coach for St. Bruno, St. Turibius, and Archer Manor Little League, and Member of Local 12. In lieu of flowers, family has asked to keep Mike’s legacy strong with donations to the Ted Stempien VFW Post 8821 or the “Dr Michael V LaRocco Endowed Scholarship” at the University of St. Francis. Visiation will be held Thursday, October, 13, 2022 from 3-9pm at Hann Funeral Home, 8230 S Harlem Avenue, Bridgeview, IL. Family and Friends are asked to meet directly at The Shrine of Our Lady of Pompeii Church, 1224 W Lexington, Chicago, IL for the Funeral Mass on Friday, October 14, 2022 at 10:00am. Mike and Kathy will be eternally joined and laid to rest together on Monday, October 17, 2022 at 10:30am at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
