An Exclusive Evening with F.W. de Klerk

University of Phoenix Southern California Campus hosts over 70 honor society members, faculty, and guests at a Distinguished Speaker Series with former South African President and Nobel Laureate F.W. de Klerk on April 22, 2015 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. Newly inducted and alumni members of the College of Nursing Sigma Theta Tau Omicron Delta, College of Criminal Justice & Security Alpha Phi Sigma Eta Theta and School of Business Delta Mu Delta Lambda Sigma Honor Societies were recognized as esteemed scholars and had a great chance to network with other members in their chapters. The night started off with a private reception, mixer and Q&A with former South African President and Nobel Laureate F.W. de Klerk. Dr. PeterMax Miller moderated the Q&A. Afterward, attendees were directed into the auditorium where they heard F.W. de Klerk speak to a larger audience. He share stories of his unlikely partnership with Nelson Mandela, how his union brought an end to apartheid and his hopes for the future. He emphasized that good leaders are good listeners.
